Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 5.80000019073486, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire. Previously, 5 subspecies were recognized: E. olbrechtsi azureus, E. olbrechtsi dauresi, E. olbrechtsi kassiapleuensis, E. olbrechtsi olbrechtsi, E. olbrechtsi puetzi (Ref. 57261). Reported from Guinea (Ref. 27139).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in swamps, small streams and rivers (Ref. 3788). Not a seasonal killifish. Difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).

Threat to humans:  harmless
