Family:  Histiophrynidae (Starfingered frogfishes)
Max. size:  11.1 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 30 - 70 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: endemic to southern Australia, from Wilson's Promontory, Victoria to Tasmania.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  A benthic (Ref. 75154) and temperate species (Ref. 7300) found inshore on reefs (Ref. 7300, 75154).
IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated (N.E.) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
