Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 100 - 1537 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Kuroshio waters off Japan (Ref. 28981). Eastern Central Pacific: Hawaiian Islands (Ref. 58302).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Mesopelagic at >1-100 m at night, 200-300 m during day (Ref. 58302); but does not appear on the surface (Ref. 125672).

Threat to humans:  harmless
