Max. size:  21.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 210 - 290 m
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: Chesterfield Islands and New Caledonia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Acute snout 70-80°. Eye diameter 2.4-3.35 times in HL. Distal margins of dorsal and caudal fins bright yellow. Snout and suborbital region naked; cheeks, opercle scaly; preopercle scaly except at its posterior margin. Mouth low, slightly oblique. Scales on transverse series 5-6 + 12-15 (Ref. 48491).
