Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  9 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: San Bernardina Creek in southwest New Mexico and southeast Arizona, USA; also in Mexico. Presumed extirpated in the US.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 14-16. Dorsal fin and caudal fins are colored gray, other fins colored white. In the middle of the body side, there is a dark gray strip (Ref.33303).
Biology:  Found in sandy and rocky pools of creeks (Ref. 86798).
