Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: known only from Delagoa Bay, Mozambique to Durban, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 110-120; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 88-95; Vertebrae: 54-55. Upper side brown with indistinct horizontal lines following scale rows; lower side whitish; each side with 2 lateral lines each (Ref. 4418).
Biology:  Feeds on small invertebrates (Ref. 5213).
