Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 20 - 146 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Hawaiian Islands, including the Midway Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults are benthopelagic over sand, rubble, and rocky areas (Ref. 9710, 58302).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 20 February 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
