Distribution:  Europe: Caspian Sea and lower reaches of Volga, Ural and possibly Terek.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Marine or anadromous. Feeds on zooplanktonic crustaceans. Spawning occurs near river mouth (Ref. 59043).
