Family:  Cheimarrichthyidae (Torrentfish)
Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine, amphidromous
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: endemic to New Zealand.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Amphidromous. Occurs in rivers, but young are found from the sea.
