Family:  Champsodontidae (Crocodile toothfishes)
Max. size:  8.21 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 34 - 84 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Maldives, Australia, Viet Nam, Philippines, Indonesia and Guam (Ref. 35721). Have been recorded off the coast of Batroun, northern part of Lebanon (Ref. 85233).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 4-6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 18-23; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 16-21; Vertebrae: 29-33. Tip of first dorsal fin speckled, not solidly dark. Transverse row of 4 sensory papillae between posterior margins of pterotic ridges (Ref 12850).
