Environment:  demersal; brackish; depth range - 43 m
Distribution:  Former USSR and Asia: central part of the Caspian Sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-8; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 5-7. Body reduced, snout roundish, without upper lip. Sides of the body and head pale or yellowish brown with gray speckles (Ref. 33724).
Biology:  Does not enter freshwater areas (Ref. 26334).
