Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 500 - 3000 m
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific and Southwest Atlantic: Chile (Ref. 27540) and off the mouth of Río de la Plata, Argentina (Ref. 26282).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Holotype taken from a depth of 1,000 m (Ref. 26282). Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205). Depth range assumed from two records (1000 and 2000 m) (RF).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 07 February 2019 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
