Environment:  benthopelagic; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: Bay of Bengal. Known only form Sri Lanka.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 30-31; Vertebrae: 25-25. Weakly differentiated teeth on the lower jaw. First dorsal fin spines usually IX, dorsal fin soft rays 30-31, pectoral fin rays usually 19, lower gill rakers usually 11, ctenoid scales on the anterior half of the body, and swim bladder appendages weakly enveloping the bladder.
