Family:  Tetraodontidae (Puffers), subfamily: Tetraodontinae
Max. size:  34.2 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 10 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Malaysia and Ryukyu Is,; possibly in the Philippines and Japan (132210) .
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal soft rays: 9-10; Vertebrae: 19-19. This species is distinguished by the following characters: longitudinal black lines on the body are many; caudal fin with irregular black lines and spots, and a yellow ventral region (Ref. 132210).
