Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine, amphidromous
Distribution:  Indian Ocean: India and Bangladesh (Ref. 4833). Reported from the South China Sea (Ref. 39501).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in estuaries and tidal rivers. Ascends rivers beyond tidal reach (Ref. 1479).
IUCN Red List Status: Near Threatened (NT); Date assessed: 01 October 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  traumatogenic
