Family:  Nothobranchiidae (African rivulines)
Max. size:  5.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: southeastern Nigeria over western and southwestern Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea to northwestern Gabon (Ref. 27139, 80395). Only present east of Mt. Cameroon and west of Wouri River in Cameroon according to Ref. 76820.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-13; Anal soft rays: 12-15
Biology:  Occurs in quiet parts of brooks and small streams in the coastal rainforest on tertiary and quaternary sedimentary soil (Ref. 3788). Not a seasonal killifish; difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139). Occurs near coast and not for inland; prefers clearer and more active water on fine substratum (Ref. 84174).
