Distribution:  South America: Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal soft rays: 7-8. Midlateral stripe with indiscrete limits. Dark chromatophores scattered all over the body, especially longitudinally, thus forming an irregular and discontinuous stripe at pectoral fin insertion level, extending beyond origin of pelvic fin, sometimes reaching the anal fin (Ref. 47883).
