Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 10 - 105 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Japan to Sakhalin and the Sea of Japan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-8; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 13-14. No free rays on pectoral fin. A barbel present on the tip of the snout. dorsum highly elevated at nape. Lateral line black.
