Ecology of Caesio lunaris

Main Ref. Carpenter, K.E., 1988
Remarks Occurs inshore (Ref. 75154). In the juvenile stage, it stays close to the reef & schools with other juvenile species of caesionids, commonly with C. cuning. Adult typically feeds further off the reef than other fusiliers; returning to the reef only at night to shelter (Ref. 402). Inhabits coastal waters. Dwells in coral reefs and rocky substrates. Pelagic schooling species (Also Ref. 129713). Filter-feeder that mainly feeds on zooplankton (Ref. 9773). Found in wrecks, underwater hills, or mounts (Ref. 129713).
