Remarks The specimen of Stenolicnus ix was collected in the headwaters of the Rio Curuá, from a lotic area about 5m wide and less than a meter deep. A large amount of leaf litter was present on the river bed, and the margins were dominated by amphibious vegetation. Fifteen species of fishes, including Characiformes, Siluriformes and Perciformes occur syntopically with Stenolicnus ix (Ref. 86403).
