Remarks Inhabits moderately steep and steep rocky shores at depths between 2 and at least 10 m. On moderately steep slopes it is usually encountered somewhat offshore. On steep slopes it occurs immediately inshore among boulders and in deep rock pools, sometimes at less than 2 m depth. Feeds on insect larvae, epilithic sponges, ostracoda, plankton, detritus and snails.
