Remarks Considered a parasite eater despite the fact that it regularly feeds upon other items. Field observations of P. crabro actually stealing eggs from brooding females of Bagrus meridionalis raises the question of whether M. crabro is also behaviourally adapted to egg robbing (Ref. 42778).
