Remarks Currently used, replaced 'Electric ray' used in Ref. 10161. 'Pacific', i.e., of the Pacific Ocean; 'electric', i.e., discharges an electric charge; 'electric' from Latin 'electrum' from Greek 'elektron', i.e., amber, referring to the ability of rubbed amber to attract light bodies (p. 197 in Ref. 11979); 'ray', from Old French 'raie' from Latin 'raia', of unknown origins (p. 433 in Ref. 11979).
