Remarks 'moray' from Latin 'muraena' and Greek 'myraina', i.e., a fish of which the ancients were very fond; 'leopard', from Middle English from Old French 'leupart' from Latin 'leopardus' from Greek 'leopardos', from 'leon', i.e., lion and 'pardos' (p. 684, Ref. 11978).
