 Description of culture system
Carp nursery floating cages (2-3 mm mesh size) of 11.52 m3 capacity (4.0 x 2.4 x 1.2 m) were stocked within one growout cage (7 x 7 x 2.5 m) with tilapia on the outside of the nursery cage. This was done to test the effects of two different sizes of tilapia on carp nursery cage fouling, fingerling production and growth.

 Description of Nutrient input
Feed given was a ground commercial feed (Comfeed) made up of 24-26% crude protein, 6-8% fat and has a metabolizable energy content of 2.6-2.8 kcal/g. Fish were fed initially at 7% BWD in 5 equal feedings. Feeding rates were then adjusted 1% downwards every sampling time until it reaches a 3% BWD.
