Remarks Area sampled are affected by freshwater input from the Rivers Srtymon and Rihios, which are main sources of nutrients and pollutants (domestic and agricultural) into the sea. Bongo net sampler, with standard 20 cm diameter bongo frame fitted with 250 um mesh nets, fitted with a flowmeter at the mouth of each net for the estimation of the water filtered was used. Tows were oblique, from within 5 m of the bottom to the surface for all stations, retreival speed was 10-20 m/min.
