Description Rise in the Auvergne Mountains, south of Monts Dore in central France. It flows west for 480 km (300 mi), through the departments of Corrèze, Lot, Dordogne, and Gironde to Bec d'Ambès, near Bordeaux in the southwest (MS Encarta 2004).
