Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Lives in slow to moderately swift flowing waters situated in dry scrub country; occurring in aggregations usually in rocky pools or along shallow stream margins around log debris. Occurs in gently to moderately flowing water of shallow spring-fed creeks (Ref. 44894). Feeds on insects and their larvae, small crustaceans and algae. A shoal-forming species, particularly when young. The entire life cycle takes place in fresh water. Breeds in its second year during spring. Maximum life span is about 3 years (Ref. 44894).

Estimates of some properties based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82805):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01000 (0.00244 - 0.04107), b=3.04 (2.81 - 3.27), in cm Total Length, based on all LWR estimates for this body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic Level (Ref. 69278):  3.0   ±0.37 se; Based on food items.
Resilience (Ref. 69278):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (24 of 100) .
