Presence of a thin, black line along flank. Adipose crests on caudal peduncle weakly developed. Dark spots at caudal base hardly visible. Few (8-13) blotches in midlateral row, often horizontally elongated.
Europe: Upper and middle reach of some Danube tributaries in Romania (Arges, Olt, Jiu, Mures and Tapolitza systems).
Found in sandy streams with clean water and moderate to fast current (Ref. 59043).
