Dorsal spines (total): 9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 7. This species is distinguished by the following set of characters: U-shaped luminous gland extending from throat to posterior tip of pectoral fin, its length 29.5-32.0% SL; symphysis of lower jaw is not protruded; anterior surface of proximal radial of the first anal-fin pterygiophore with concavity; anus is closer to pelvic-fin insertion than to origin of anal fin; with cycloid scales on lateral side of body; no vertical line on cheek; scales 4 between the first dorsal-fin base and lateral line; pectoral-fin rays 15; total gill rakers 20-21 (Ref. 123727).
