Etymology: Rineloricaria: Greek, rhinos = nose + Latin, lorica, loricare = cuirass of corslet of leather; 1706 (Ref. 45335); maacki: Named for Reinhard Maack, a geologist who made some of the most important contributions to the knowledge of the geology and physiography of the rio Iguaçu basin and Paraná State.
