Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Inhabits stony rivulets (Ref. 6868); has been collected in little forest tributaries (3 to 4 m wide) with shallow depth, rocky bottom, strong current, often with cascades. Likewise, during the dry season, it has been found in a split brook with very little water input, where only 2 species of Rivulus (R. igneus and R. cladophorus were present, thus suggesting that Lithoxus is a pioneer species which is capable of colonizing difficult environments which are nutritionally poor (Ref. 35381).

Estimates of some properties based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82805):  PD50 = 0.5039   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.01349 (0.00632 - 0.02879), b=3.11 (2.92 - 3.30), in cm Total Length, based on LWR estimates for this species & (Sub)family-body (Ref. 93245).
Resilience (Ref. 69278):  High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months ().
Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100) .
