This subspecies is distinguished from of B. banjos brevispinisby the following set of characters: least interorbital width 6.2-10.3, mean 7.5 % of SL (vs. 5.8-8.1, mean 6.8); 1st dorsal-fin spine length 4.8-11.7, mean 7.4 % of SL (vs. 4.5-8.0, mean 6.1); 2nd dorsal-fin spine length 11.2-22.7, mean 17.2 % of SL (vs. 11.2-18.3, mean 14.0); 8th dorsal-fin spine length 11.3-19.6, mean 14.8 % of SL (vs. 9.5-18.7, mean 12.5) (Ref. 116322). |
