Diagnosis

Diagnosis: mout subinferior; two pairs of well-developed barbels, anterior pair equal to and posterior pair 1.3x eye diameter; last simple ray of dorsal fin ossified and measuring 1.0-1.1 times head length; 30-33 scales in lateral line (Ref. 81639).

Description: medium-sized species, body laterally compressed; lower lip continuous; scales with parallel striae; scale formula: 4.5-5.5/30-33/5.5/2.5-3/12; D: IV, 9; A: III, 5; P: 15-18; V: 9-10; lateral line complete; dorsal fin with concave border (Ref. 81639).

Coloration: ground color, grey-brown dorsally, silvery on flanks, white ventrally; scales with dark brown borders; fins grey with black distal margin (Ref. 81639).
