Known from the Amazon River basin, along the Amazon River from the mouth or the Negro River to Marajó Island, and in Amapá (Ref. 36377). Type locality: Amazon R. at Para, Santarim, Gurupa, Rio Xingu at Porto do Noz; Rio Negro, and Rio Hyuvari. Also Ref. 12251.
