Occurs in Mekong, Chantaburi, Bangpakong, Chao Phraya, Meklong, Tapi, and Pattani river basins (Ref. 10429). Found in the river systems of Peninsular and Southeast Thailand (Ref. 26336); also from Bangkok (Ref. 37773). Museum: Chao Phraya basin, CAS 79151. Museum: Mekong, CAS 97043 (near Chiang Saen); CAS 79087, 92502 (Huay Nam Ngam & Mekong mainstream 1 km downriver from That Phanom); CAS 96721 (near Chiang Khan) (Ref. 5515).
