Known from Yarqon river (Ref. 2, 107916), but probably not in Jordan Valley where it is now stocked artificially (Ref. 2, 88). Also Ref. 5166, 9987. Native population probably extinct (M. Goren, pers. comm.). Ben Tuvia considered this as an exotic species (Ref. 37616).
