Type locality of Pseudogobius jeffi, Queensland, Gladstone, Aukland Creek. Known from shallow-water estuarine, in mangrove creeks and muddy tide-pools, at depths of 0-1 m; also in marginal habitats such as by boat ramps and overgrown drains> Ranges from the northeast coast of Queensland, Round Hill, south-east of Gladstone to Daintree region, including near-shore islands (Ref. 126575).
