Recently sampled from Bool Lagoon by R.H. Kuiter which represents a significant westward range extension. This population differs from specimens in eastern range. Adversely affected by Oncorhynchus mykiss, Salmo trutta, Perca fluviatilis, Cyprinus carpio and Gambusia holbrooki (Ref. 48787). Also Ref. 7300.

Status of threat: vulnerable because of widespread habitat degradation within its restricted range (Ref. 44894).
