魚有如 C. alpha 的相似體型, 但是完全黃色。 在被依據區域而定的印尼有白色或黃色的鰭，而且兩種型式出現在巴里島。 在日本，亞熱帶形式有黃色的腹面與一個白色的尾部, 也長得大很多 (14 公分).(參考文獻 48636)
Adults usually inhabit steep outer reef slopes and rocky bottoms. Found singly or in small groups. Uncommon (Ref. 9710). Diurnal species (Ref. 54980; 113699). Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
