Short description Morfología | Morfometría

Radios blandos dorsales (total): 11; Radios blandos anales: 7. Body spindle-shaped and subcylindrical, and head anteriorly compressed. Other diagnostic characters include scaleless abdomen, horizontally placed pectoral and pelvic fins, 35-36 scales along the lateral line series, dark brownish spots in the predorsal region and along the sides of the body, relatively bigger head, deeper body and smaller mouth; hump-like shape in the predorsal region of bigger specimens (Ref. 75068).

Inhabits river with more water current and sandy bottom. Prefers sandy substrate with horizontally placed pectoral fin suited to withstand the water flow (Ref. 75068).
