Snout very large, in lateral view twice eye diameter, well developed subdermal gelatinous layer. Nostril large, tubular. Mouth horizontal, subterminal. Teeth simple. Cephalic pores large. Symphyseal pores not closely set. Gill opening reaching in front of pectoral ray 2-3. Body pale (pink in life), greyish postabdominally. Peritoneum and gill cavity black, stomach pale (Ref. 39425).
