Diagnosis: body depth 4.7-5.1x and head length 3.9-4.1x SL; eye diameter 2.9-3.1x head length (Ref. 2940, 81282). Scale formula: 9.5/40-42/4.5 (Ref. 2940, 81282) or 8.5-9.5/40-42/4.5 (Ref. 81639). 12 scales around caudal peduncle; 14-16 anal-fin branched rays (Ref. 2940, 81282, 81639). 8 dorsal-fin branched rays; sides plain or with irregular markings; back dark (Ref. 2940, 81282).
