Short description

Spine dorsali (totale): 2; Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 9; Spine anali 4; Raggi anali molli: 36 - 43. Large eyes, orbital diameter equal to or slightly longer than snout length. Gibbosity very pronounced.
Is a predator whose main food is not known. Appears to prefer an environment with fast current over rocky bottom which is typical of the rapids. Frequently found in the upstream areas of rivers (Ref. 12225).
