Korte beschrijving Morfologie | Morfometrie

Dorsale stekels (totaal): 0; Dorsale zachte stralen (totaal): 11-12; Anale stekels 0; Anale zachte stralen: 15 - 17; Wervels: 35 - 36. Complete lateral line, infraorbital process well developed. Distinguished from all other Danio species by its unique color pattern, having a dark stripe somewhat weakly pigmented anterior to vertical from dorsal-fin origin, getting thicker and darker posteriorly, and ending at the base of caudal fin. The most similar species, D. chrysotaeniatus, lacks the infraorbital process, has three rows of pharyngeal teeth, and has the P stripe extending to the end of the caudal-fin rays. Unlike all other striped Danio species so far examined for this character, D. laoensis has only two instead of three or four rows of pharyngeal teeth (Ref. 37788). With 8-9 1/2 branched dorsal rays and 12-14 1/2 branched anal rays (Ref. 43281).

Biologie     Verklarende woordenlijst (bv. epibenthic)

Inhabits clear, rapidly flowing water (Ref. 12693). Found in rapid-running mountain streams of the middle Mekong (Ref. 12975). Feeds on insects and other invertebrates (Ref. 12693).

Estimates based on models

Fylogenetische diversiteitsindex (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00457 (0.00175 - 0.01195), b=3.15 (2.92 - 3.38), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this (Sub)family-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trofisch niveau (Ref. 69278):  3.4   ±0.39 se; based on food items.
Weerstandsvermogen (Ref. 120179):  Hoog, minimale populatieverdubbelingstijd minder dan 15 maanden (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
