Distribution: Southern Australia and New Zealand region. Soft dorsal fin considerably longer than anal fin. Gill membranes not united to isthmus. Anal spines 3. Arripidae, used by many authors is incorrect (Ref. 27959). Paulin (Ref. 9701) suggested Arripididae as another spelling.
