At 4.0 mm, larve lack pigment on the pelvic fins and have no chromatophores at the base of the anal. At about 5.0 mm, the body is deep and compressed; mouth oblique; pelvic rays reach beyond vent. At 7.0 mm, 2nd dorsal and anal rays are differentiated.
