Spawning Cycles: (1/y)   Ref:
Comments: Sand whiting aggregate during the spawning period. Spawning occurs at peak high tide, at night and 1-2 days prior to full moon (Ref. 27246). The onset of spawning may be related to water temperature and day length (Ref. 1254, 6223). Spawning takes place at the mouth of estuaries, in large embayments, in the sea, or on shallow banks close to breaking surf (Ref. 6390). Adults disperse after spawning, perhaps to deeper offshore waters.
