Additional Characters Eggs are oblong capsules with stiff pointed horns at the corners deposited in sandy or muddy flats (Ref. 205). At Chesapeake Bight, egg capsules measure 5.1-8.9 cm long and 3.8-5.7 cm wide (Ref. 7135).
