Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-neritic; marine; depth range - 49 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: throughout the Mediterranean Sea and adjacent Atlantic coasts.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Typically inhabits offshore. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
